What classes do you offer?
We offer Wilderness First Aid, Wilderness First Responder, WFA/ WFR Recertification Training, Bloodborne Pathogens, Disaster Preparedness, Community First Aid, Community CPR and Professional CPR. Please explore our site tolearn about all of our courses.

What is the difference between AHA and ASHI?
American Safety and Health Iinstitute (ASHI) and American Heart Association (AHA) curriculums are identical. AHA requires us to use videos for a majority of the class with very little time given for practical. ASHI is a much more hands-on curriculum with some video and power point portions.

Why is there a difference in cost between ASHI and AHA?
We are able to charge less for American Safety and Health Institute’s classes due to their lower cost of supplies and the time it takes to teach the class. American Heart Association books and supplies cost a considerable amount more per student.

How long does the class take?
Please see the Wilderness Training page and the Urban Training page for specific information on the class you're interested in.

How long is certification good for?
Please see the Wilderness Training page and the Urban Training page for specific information on the class you're interested in.

Do you offer on-site training?
Medic Response Health & Safety does have a training facility, however we do most of our training at a location provided by our clients or Medic Response Health & Safety will get a spot for the class.

When do you offer classes?
We work with our clients to provide class times that will minimize impact on their staffing. We have the ability to offer classes at any time, including overnight.

How do I schedule a class?
When it comes to registering for a class or hosting a class, you have many options. You may either register online or download and print the application and fax it to us already filled out.

What is the largest class size you can handle?
We pride ourselves on being able to handle any training situation a client presents to us. Medic Response Health & Safety will cater a training package that meets you facility's needs. Please give us reasonable notice when you have large groups so we may coordinate the logistics involved when working with larger groups. Also, be aware that large groups of people usually require multiple sessions due to standards on instructor to student ratios.

Do you offer certification tracking so I know when my employees’ certifications will expire?
Medic Response Health & Safety has a customized database for certification tracking. We will automatically track and contact you in regards to expiring certifications within your organization.

We had to share Mannequins at our last training with a different company; will we have to share them again?
Medic Response Health & Safety prides itself in the quality and maintenance of all its equipment. We have a 1: 1 student to mannequin ratio. All mannequins are cleaned and disinfected after every use. Having your own mannequin makes the environment more conductive to learning and gives the participant a certain level of ease.

Many classes I have taken in the past were video-based and boring. Will we be watching videos for 3 hours?
American Heart Association is a very video-oriented curriculum with little time dedicated for hands-on training. American Safety and Health Institute's curriculum allows us to do a mostly hands-on class with associated power points. We offer both curriculums to our clients.

Are all of your instructors Firefighters, EMTs, Paramedics, or experienced health care providers?
We believe it is hard to teach someone about first aid or cpr when you have very little or no experience performing the skills. All classes are always lead by a Firefighter, Paramedic, or experienced emergency health care provider.

Do you offer any other classes not listed on your web site?
Medic Response Health & Safety has a wide array of classes available. If you do not see the class you are looking for, please contact us. If we do not offer the class ourselves, we can most likely recommend someone who does.

Do you offer any first aid kits or response bags?
We can design and stock a First Aid Kit or emergency response bag to meet your specific needs. We do not offer inventory management or restocking services. Once you product is delivered, it becomes your responsibility for proper maintenance and restocking.  Due Medic Response Health & Safety can offer guidance on restocking procedures and minimum ANSI and OHSA reqirements. You can purchase them from us or go to our web site www.firstaidsuppliesplus.com

What are the legal ramifications of training?
When your employer provides training with the expectation for you to use it while on duty you now have a “Duty to act”. If you are not on duty when an emergency occurs and you intervene and help someone you will be protected by the “Good Samaritan Law”.

Do you sell AEDS?
Yes we currently sell and provide all training for your AED sales and servicing needs.

What is the age limit on your WFA class?
We would like students to be 18 years of age when taking this class, but we have taken students 16 years of age and 15 years of age. We consider the age requirement on a case by case basis. Please email or call so we can discuss it. We reserve the right to deny students from taking this class. Students younger than 18 years of age are required to fill out the forms that are attached and mail the forms to our office before the class.

How much room is required for class?
We require a room that is large enough to handle the amount of people to be trained. Please ensure the facility has an ample amount of both seating and table space for mannequins. Practicals may be done on the floor if tables are not available.

Do I need audio or video equipment?
We will provide all audio and video equipment necessary.

Is there a test?
Certain curriculums require us to administer a short written and practical to attain the necessary certification.

Do you offer public classes that I can sign up for?
We currently organize public classes as well as offer classes to groups who are interested in offering public classes to their organization such as churches, schools and other type of groups.

Does your training meet my business's training requirements for OSHA?

What if I have lost my card?
Please contact us and we will have a card reprinted. There is an $8.00 fee for replacement cards.

How long will it take to get my card?
All cards are held until payment has been received in full. If we have the names beforehand, you can get your card the day of class or after, depending on how busy the training center is. Cards will be sent out 3-5 days after the end of class.

How does your pricing work?
We will give you a price quote for up to the amount of students you ask for. We will also include a per student cost for extra students. If you would like a per head price it will require a minimum number of students and payment must be made in advance.

Why do you charge a flat rate for up to a certain number of students? I want a per head price.
It is not uncommon for us to have a class that is scheduled for 8 students and have half of them not show up for various scheduling reasons. We buy supplies and pay instructors on an as-needed basis, catered to your specific class and needs. When students do not show up the cost to us remains the same. We can offer a per head price with a minimum amount of students required.

Will I still be charged for students that do not show up?
Your invoice explains our billing policy for your specific class. We usually charge a flat rate for our services for up to a certain number of students, and that amount is expected in full at time of service unless other arrangements have been made with us in advance.

Cancellations received within 72 hours of the classes scheduled start time will be charged a $75.00 cancellation fee, deducted from your registration fee. Classes may be rescheduled at anytime. After the 72-hour time your deposit is non-refundable.
